Connect Infobip with meetergo - Send Reminders as RCS with SMS Fallback
Connect your own Infobip account to send appointment reminders as RCS messages with automatic SMS fallback, billed by Infobip.
With the Infobip integration, meetergo sends your appointment reminders as RCS messages with automatic SMS fallback. Phones that support RCS show a rich message. All other phones receive a plain SMS instead. Sending runs on your own Infobip account, so Infobip bills you directly and your meetergo SMS credits stay untouched.
What you need
Before you begin, make sure you have:
✅ A meetergo account → Sign up now ✅ An Infobip account → Infobip Website ✅ An approved RCS sender in Infobip → register and verify it in the Infobip portal first ✅ Your Infobip API key and base URL → you can find both in the Infobip portal, see API authentication
How the integration works
Step 1: Prepare your Infobip account
- Log in to the Infobip portal
- Register and verify your RCS sender (approval can take a few days)
- Create an API key with permission to send RCS and SMS messages
- Note your base URL. It looks like
https://abc123.api.infobip.com
Step 2: Connect Infobip to meetergo
- Log in to your meetergo account
- Go to Integrations & Apps
- Find Infobip and click Connect now
- Enter your base URL, API key, and RCS sender, then click Save
The integration is now active. You do not need to change anything in your meeting types or workflows. Every reminder SMS from now on goes through Infobip.
Step 3: Test the connection
- Open the Infobip integration again and click Test connection
- Optionally send a test message to your own phone number
The test message is a real message and may be billed by Infobip.
Billing
Messages sent through Infobip are billed by Infobip under your own contract. meetergo does not deduct SMS credits for them. If sending through Infobip fails for any reason, meetergo automatically retries through its own SMS provider (using your credits) and falls back to email if that fails too.
FAQ
Do recipients need anything special to receive RCS?
No. Phones with RCS support (most Android phones, and iPhones with iOS 18 or later from carriers that support it) show the RCS message automatically. Everyone else receives the SMS fallback. Neither you nor the recipient needs to configure anything.
Which messages go through Infobip?
All reminder SMS: meeting reminders, workflow SMS actions, and CRM phone messages. Emails and WhatsApp messages are not affected.
What happens if my Infobip balance runs out?
Infobip rejects the send and meetergo retries through its own SMS provider, so your reminders still go out. Refill your Infobip balance to switch back automatically.
Can I disconnect Infobip again?
Yes. Open the Infobip integration and click Disconnect. Reminders then go through meetergo SMS credits again, as before.
