Accepting Payments with Mollie Integration

Updated on May 11, 2026

meetergo's Mollie integration lets you collect payments for appointments before they're confirmed — with first-class support for European payment methods that customers actually use locally. Alongside cards, your clients can pay with iDEAL (Netherlands), Bancontact (Belgium), SEPA Direct Debit, BLIK (Poland), Klarna, and more. Payments are processed directly through your own Mollie account, so funds land in your Mollie balance and meetergo never touches the money.

Connecting meetergo and Mollie

Follow these steps to connect your Mollie account with meetergo:

  1. Log in to your meetergo account and navigate to Integrations & Apps
  2. Find the "Mollie" integration card and click "Connect Now"
  3. You'll be redirected to Mollie where you'll need to log in and grant the necessary permissions
  4. Once completed, your meetergo account will be linked to Mollie, allowing you to enable Mollie payments for any Meeting Type

After connecting, all payment processing happens securely through Mollie. You keep full control of your payment methods, settlements, and refunds in the Mollie Dashboard.

Enabling Mollie for a Meeting Type

After connecting Mollie, you can enable it for specific Meeting Types:

  1. Go to your Meeting Types
  2. Edit an existing Meeting Type or create a new one
  3. Navigate to the "Payment" tab
  4. Enable the "Collect payments" option
  5. Tick "Mollie" as a payment provider (you can combine it with Stripe and/or PayPal)
  6. Set the price and choose the currency
  7. Optionally, provide payment terms (displayed on the booking page)
  8. Save your changes

Visit your booking page to confirm everything is set up correctly. Your Meeting Type will now require payment during the booking process.

How the Booking Flow Looks for Your Clients

Mollie uses a hosted checkout page — this is different from Stripe's inline card form:

  1. The client fills in your booking form and clicks "Book now"
  2. They are redirected to Mollie's secure checkout page, where they pick a payment method (iDEAL, card, Bancontact, Klarna, etc.) and pay
  3. After paying, Mollie redirects them back to meetergo, where their booking is finalised automatically
  4. The client lands on the confirmation page — and you both receive the usual booking confirmation email

If the client closes the tab during payment, no booking is created and the slot remains free.

Payment Methods

Mollie supports a wide range of European payment methods. The ones that appear on your client's checkout depend on what you've enabled in your Mollie Dashboard and on your client's country/currency.

Configuring Payment Methods in Mollie

To control which payment methods are offered to your clients:

  1. Log in to your Mollie Dashboard
  2. Navigate to "Settings" > "Payment methods"
  3. Activate the payment methods you want to offer (e.g. iDEAL, Bancontact, SEPA Direct Debit, Klarna, BLIK, cards)
  4. Some methods require additional documentation or approval from Mollie — follow the on-screen prompts
  5. Once a method is active in Mollie, it will automatically appear on your booking checkout

Which Methods to Enable

A good baseline for most European businesses:

  • Cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex) — global default
  • iDEAL — essential if you sell to customers in the Netherlands
  • Bancontact — essential if you sell to customers in Belgium
  • SEPA Direct Debit — useful for higher-ticket bookings and recurring customers
  • Apple Pay / Google Pay — convenient on mobile
  • Klarna — buy-now-pay-later, popular in DACH and the Nordics
  • PayPal (via Mollie) — alternative checkout for clients who prefer it

Common Items to Include in Payment Terms

The payment terms are displayed on the booking page above the "Book now" button. Consider including:

  • Cancellation policy
  • Refund policy
  • Any additional fees or charges
  • Terms of service

Clear payment terms help set expectations and reduce potential disputes with clients.

FAQ

What happens when an attendee books an appointment?

When Mollie payment is enabled, the booking is only confirmed after a successful payment on Mollie's hosted checkout. meetergo only creates the appointment once Mollie reports the payment as "paid". If the customer abandons checkout, the slot stays open — no ghost bookings.

How do I process refunds?

Refunds are handled directly in your Mollie Dashboard. meetergo does not process refunds. To issue a refund:

  1. Log in to your Mollie Dashboard
  2. Open the relevant payment
  3. Click "Refund" and follow the instructions

For details, see Mollie's refund documentation: https://docs.mollie.com/docs/refunds

Why aren't all payment methods showing on my booking page?

The payment methods displayed depend on:

  1. Which methods you've activated in your Mollie Dashboard
  2. Your client's country and the booking currency
  3. Mollie's eligibility rules for each method (e.g. iDEAL only for EUR payments)

If a method is missing, check Settings > Payment methods in your Mollie Dashboard.

Can I use Mollie together with Stripe or PayPal?

Yes. Mollie, Stripe and PayPal are independent integrations. You can connect all three and enable any combination of them on a Meeting Type — your clients will see a payment-method selector during booking and pick the one they prefer.

Are there any fees for using the Mollie integration?

meetergo does not charge additional fees for using Mollie. Payments flow directly to your Mollie account and meetergo doesn't take a cut. Standard Mollie transaction fees apply — see Mollie's pricing page for current rates: https://www.mollie.com/pricing

Can I test the integration before going live?

Yes. Mollie offers a test mode you can switch into from your Mollie Dashboard. Test payments use simulated methods and do not move real money — ideal for trying the full booking flow end-to-end before accepting live payments.

How do I disconnect Mollie?

Go to Integrations & Apps, find the Mollie card, and click "Disconnect". Any Meeting Types that rely exclusively on Mollie for payments will be disabled until you switch them to another provider or reconnect Mollie.
