Why can't I join my own meetergo Connect meeting as host?

Troubleshoot issues when you see 'Your host will be with you shortly' on your own meeting.

Updated on December 4, 2024

If you're seeing "Hang tight! Your host will be with you shortly" when trying to join your own meetergo Connect meeting, don't worry - this is usually a quick fix.

Common Causes and Solutions

1. You're not logged in

When you open a meeting link in an incognito window or a different browser, meetergo doesn't know you're the host.

Solution: Click the login link on the waiting screen, sign in with your meetergo account, and you'll be able to join as host.

2. The meeting is assigned to a different user

In workspaces with multiple users, each meeting type is assigned to a specific host. Only that user can join as the host - even workspace admins cannot host meetings assigned to other users.

Solution:

  1. Go to Meeting Types
  2. Check which user is assigned to the meeting type
  3. Either log in with that user's account, or reassign the meeting type to yourself

3. Browser cache issues

Sometimes cached data can cause login recognition problems.

Solution:

  1. Open a private/incognito browser window
  2. Go to my.meetergo.com and log in
  3. Then open your meeting room link in the same window

Quick Checklist

  • Are you logged into meetergo in the same browser?
  • Is this meeting type assigned to your user account?
  • Have you tried refreshing the page?
  • Have you tried an incognito window with a fresh login?

Need an Alternative for Now?

If you have an attendee waiting and can't resolve the issue immediately, you can:

  • Send them a different meeting link (Google Meet, Teams, Zoom)
  • Reschedule using a meeting type that's assigned to your user

Tip: For the smoothest experience, always make sure you're logged into meetergo in your default browser before starting meetings.
