LinkedIn limits, warm-up and account safety
How meetergo paces requests, messages, profile views and likes on LinkedIn, warms up new accounts and pauses an account when LinkedIn signals a problem.
LinkedIn watches how fast an account acts. To protect your account, meetergo sends through one queue per account that stays well below what LinkedIn tolerates. This covers campaigns and workflows. Replies from the inbox count toward the message limit too.
Daily and weekly limits
Every account starts with these limits:
| What | Default | Highest possible |
|---|---|---|
| Connection requests per day | 20 | 40 |
| Connection requests per week | 80 | 150 |
| Messages per day | 50 | 100 |
| Profile views and likes per day | 30 | 80 |
- The week rolls: it always counts the last 7 days, the way LinkedIn does.
- When a limit is reached, the rest waits in the queue and goes out the next day.
- If LinkedIn's own weekly request limit is reached first, requests wait until the date shown in the account's activity.
Change the limits
- Open Conversations → Channels → LinkedIn.
- In the Sent today column, click the limits button of the account.
- Change the numbers in Sending limits and save. Use defaults goes back to the start values.
Anyone who can see the account can lower its limits. Only the account owner can raise them, and never above the highest value, admins included.
Warm-up for new accounts
LinkedIn trusts accounts that start slowly. A newly connected account warms up:
| Week after connecting | Share of every limit |
|---|---|
| Week 1 | 25% |
| Week 2 | 50% |
| Week 3 | 75% |
| From week 4 | 100% |
Sending limits shows the current share and until when it applies. The account owner can turn Warm up new account off. Keep it on for accounts that have not sent much on LinkedIn before.
Working hours
meetergo sends only during the account owner's working hours from their meetergo availability, in their time zone, with short random gaps between sends. Without working hours, it uses Monday to Friday, 8:00 to 18:00.
Notes on connection requests
- Paid LinkedIn accounts can add notes up to 300 characters.
- Free LinkedIn accounts can send about 5 notes a month, up to 200 characters. Sending limits shows how many are left.
- After that, requests go out without the note. The activity then says "Sent without the note".
Pauses
meetergo pauses an account by itself when LinkedIn signals a problem:
- Restricted by LinkedIn: sending stays paused until the owner resumes it. Check your account on linkedin.com first. Sending again too soon can get it restricted for longer.
- Security check or logged out: sending resumes by itself after the next login.
You can also click Pause sending and Resume sending in the account menu. Nothing is lost while an account is paused. Queued actions wait.
Stay safe
- Connect only your own account.
- Keep the default limits and the warm-up, especially at the start.
- Write personal messages, not the same text to hundreds of people.
- Withdraw requests nobody accepts. See See, cancel and withdraw LinkedIn actions.
Even within these limits, LinkedIn may restrict accounts that use third-party tools. See Connect your LinkedIn account.
