LinkedIn in workflows
Send a LinkedIn connection request, a message or a like from a workflow, and start a workflow when a request is accepted or not.
Workflows can reach people on LinkedIn, for example a connection request right after a booking and a message once it is accepted. If you are new to workflows, start with Meeting Reminders and Workflows.
LinkedIn is in beta. The sender needs a connected LinkedIn account.
Actions
In the workflow builder, find these steps under LinkedIn:
- Connect on LinkedIn: sends a connection request, with an optional note.
- LinkedIn message: sends a message, with the same variables as other message steps, including AI steps.
- Like their latest post: reacts to their newest post if it is recent. Choose the reaction and how old the post may be. Skipped when they posted nothing that recent.
Two ready-made templates help you start: Connect after booking and Thank new connections.
Triggers
LinkedIn steps work with:
- Meeting triggers, for example a confirmed or rescheduled booking, before or after a meeting, or a received transcript.
- Deal triggers, for example a new deal, a stage change, a won or lost deal.
- LinkedIn triggers: Invitation accepted and Invitation not accepted.
Who sends it
- Meeting triggers: the host's LinkedIn account.
- Deal triggers: the deal owner's LinkedIn account.
- LinkedIn triggers: the account whose request was accepted or not.
Nobody else's account is ever used. Without a connected account, the step is skipped.
Who receives it
meetergo needs the person's LinkedIn profile, from the contact's LinkedIn field or a LinkedIn question on your booking page.
Missing a profile? Turn on Look up the LinkedIn profile if it is missing. It finds the profile from a work email and uses one lookup per person from your monthly allowance.
Without a profile, nothing is sent and the run shows as skipped.
Message someone you are not connected with
LinkedIn messages go only to your connections. In a LinkedIn message step, turn on If not connected, send a connection request first. The message then goes out once they accept.
Withdraw requests nobody accepts
Turn on Withdraw if not accepted and pick 7, 10, 14 or 21 days. Requests still open after that are withdrawn, which keeps your pending list short. LinkedIn blocks a new request to the same person for 3 weeks.
Ask before sending
Turn on Ask before sending to check each send first. It waits under Recent runs in the step panel until the sender clicks Approve and send or Reject.
Trigger: Invitation accepted
Starts a workflow when someone accepts a connection request sent from meetergo, for example to send a thank you message. Set how long after they accept it runs.
Trigger: Invitation not accepted
Starts a workflow when a request from meetergo is withdrawn, expires or is declined. Use it to follow up another way, for example by email or with a task for the host.
Recent runs
Recent runs in the step panel shows every run with its state, for example Waits for approval, Waits for acceptance, sent or skipped with the reason. See Why was a LinkedIn action skipped?
Every action goes through the queue of the sender's account and respects its limits and working hours. A request may therefore go out hours after the trigger.
