How long working time and billed hours are kept, the legal hold, and how health data is protected.
Working time and billed hours are records. meetergo keeps them as long as they may be needed and then deletes them on its own.
How long records are kept
| Record | Kept until |
|---|---|
| Working time, absences, allowances and the hour account | End of the record's year, plus the years for the work location (Germany 2, Austria 3, Switzerland 5), plus the extra years you set |
| Billed time entries | 8 years after the end of the invoice's year |
| Unbilled time entries | Like working time |
Settings → Working time → Keep records longer adds 0 to 3 extra years, 1 by default. The extra year covers later claims, for example about overtime.
A legal hold stops all deletion for your company. Contact support if you need one.
These defaults are a starting point. Your company decides which periods apply to it, for example under a collective agreement.
Changes stay visible
Working time is never edited in place. A correction is a new entry, and the original stays in the history. See Corrections and locked days.
Health data
Sick days and child sick days are health data. Colleagues and team leads see "absent" only. Only company admins see the type, and each view is logged. The same applies to notifications, emails, Mira and the payroll preview. Sick days go to Personio only with a separate switch.
