Projects and the board
Create projects for customers or from form answers, work with the board and its columns, and archive or delete projects.
A project belongs to a customer, collects its tasks on a board and counts every hour against its budget. Projects are available in the mode Projects with tasks.
Create a project
- Open Time & Projects → Projects and click New project.
- Choose how to start: New, or From a deal. A project from a deal takes the deal's name and customer.
- Enter a name and pick a template, or Blank board.
- Pick the customer: a company or a contact. Without a customer the project is internal.
- Optionally set a due date, then click Create project.
Projects are shared across the company. A won deal can also become a project in one click from the deal, and an accepted offer creates a project on its own when Project from an accepted offer is on.
Projects from form answers
A form can create a project from each completed answer, for example a project request form.
- Open the form in Forms and go to Automation → Workflows.
- Under Create a project from each answer, click Turn on.
Each answer then becomes a project named after the form and the customer who filled it in. meetergo builds one company Workflow, "Create projects from form answers", that every such form shares. Open workflow shows it. To stop, remove the form from that Workflow or delete the Workflow in Workflows.
The project tabs
- Tasks with the views Board, List and Timeline (Premium)
- Time
- Budget with the views Budget and Billing
- Files: pages from Docs that you write or link to the project
Settings opens from the gear at the top right of the project. Each tab remembers the view you used last.
Work with columns
The board's columns are the project's phases. Open a column's menu to:
- Rename it,
- pick a Color and an Icon,
- move it left or right, or drag it to a new place,
- delete it. Its tasks move to the neighbouring column. The last column cannot be deleted.
Add column adds a new phase. Drag a card to move a task. With the keyboard, open the move menu next to a card.
Templates
Save as template in the project settings keeps the columns for your next project.
Archive or delete
- Archive hides a finished project and keeps all its time. Restore brings it back.
- Delete removes the board, tasks and comments for good. A project with recorded time or costs cannot be deleted. Archive it instead.
