Timer and drafts
Start and stop the timer, confirm drafts from appointments and calls, and how rounding works.
You record project or customer time in two ways: with the timer while you work, or by confirming drafts that meetergo prepares from your appointments.
The timer
The timer sits in the top bar of the dashboard.
- Click Start timer. meetergo asks What are you working on?
- Pick a project and, if you like, a task. In Time on customers you pick a customer. Your favourites are at the top.
- Use Billable to decide whether the time counts for an invoice.
- Click Stop timer. The time is saved on what you picked.
Right after stopping you can click Undo. Discard throws a running timer away without recording anything.
A run shorter than one minute records nothing. meetergo tells you so instead of saving an empty entry.
There is one timer per person. It runs on the server, so the dashboard, the browser extension and the mobile app all show the same timer. Starting the timer on another task switches the running timer there. If a timer still runs after 10 hours or at midnight, meetergo reminds you. It never stops it for you.
Drafts from appointments, calls and events
When Suggest appointments as time is on, every customer appointment that has ended becomes a draft. Drafts also come from calls and from events you hosted. With Connect, the draft takes the real call duration.
You find drafts on Home in the Today (time) tile, in My time and in the Calendar time layer.
- Record turns a draft into a time entry. Record all confirms all drafts of the day.
- Ignore hides a draft. It does not come back.
- A draft without a project or customer waits until you pick one.
Drafts are never confirmed automatically. Mira can suggest drafts too, see Mira in Time & Projects.
Rounding
Recorded times always stay exact. Rounding only applies when you bill: an admin sets the grid under Settings → General → Rounding on invoices (exact, or a number of minutes) and the direction (round up or round to nearest).
