Analytics & Engagement Tracking
Understand how visitors engage with your Resource Hubs — views, time spent, unique visitors, ratings, and comments
Every Resource Hub automatically tracks visitor engagement. Use analytics to understand what content resonates, identify your most engaged prospects, and time your follow-ups with precision.
Hub List Summary
The Resource Hubs list shows a 30-day engagement snapshot for every hub:
| Metric | Description |
|---|---|
| Views | Total number of times the hub was opened |
| Unique visitors | Number of distinct visitors (by email or session ID) |
| Ratings | Number of star ratings submitted by visitors |
| Comments | Total comments left across all steps |
This lets you quickly identify which hubs are active, which are stale, and which are generating the most engagement.
Hub Analytics Detail
Open a hub and navigate to the Analytics tab for a deeper breakdown.
Overview Metrics (Last 30 Days)
- Total views — every page load counted
- Unique visitors — deduplicated by email (if email gate is active) or session cookie
- Average time spent — how long visitors spend across all steps
- Engagement rate — percentage of visitors who interact beyond the first step
Visitor Sessions
Each visit creates a session record showing:
- Visitor identity — email address (if collected) or "Anonymous"
- Visit timestamp — exact date and time
- Device — desktop or mobile
- Browser — Chrome, Safari, Firefox, etc.
- Operating system — Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, etc.
- Location — country and city (derived from IP address)
Step-Level Engagement
See which steps are getting attention and which are being skipped:
- Views per step — how many visitors opened each step
- Time on step — average time spent reading or watching
- Downloads — how many visitors downloaded a file from this step
Steps with very low view counts but high time-on-step are "hidden gems" — few people find them, but those who do are highly engaged. Consider making them more prominent in your structure.
Comments
All visitor comments are surfaced in the Analytics tab, letting you review feedback and questions in one place without navigating step by step.
Ratings
If visitors have submitted star ratings, they appear here alongside any written feedback.
Visitor Identification
meetergo uses two methods to identify visitors:
Email-Based (Recommended)
When Require email is enabled, visitors provide their email before accessing the hub. Their email is then attached to every event they generate in that session — views, downloads, comments, and ratings.
This gives you:
- Named visitor rows in analytics
- The ability to correlate hub activity with CRM contacts
- Accurate unique visitor counts
Session-Based (Anonymous)
Without the email gate, meetergo assigns each browser session a random ID. You still get full engagement data (views, time spent, downloads), but visitors appear as "Anonymous" in the visitor list.
If a visitor submits their email later (e.g., when leaving a comment), meetergo associates their session history retroactively.
Notifications for Engagement Events
meetergo can send you real-time notifications when key events happen:
| Event | Channel |
|---|---|
| Hub viewed | In-app notification + email |
| Comment added | In-app notification + email |
| Link opened | In-app notification only |
| Hub shared by a visitor | In-app notification only |
Configure notifications per hub:
- Open the hub
- Click the bell icon (top right)
- Toggle each event independently
Device & Location Tracking
meetergo automatically captures:
- Device type: Mobile vs. desktop
- Browser: Chrome, Safari, Edge, Firefox, and others
- OS: Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, Linux
- Country & city: Derived from IP address via geolocation
This data helps you understand your audience — for example, if most visitors open your hub on mobile, that's a strong signal to keep content scannable and minimize large PDFs.
Engagement Ratings
Visitors can rate the hub using a star rating (1–5). Ratings appear in:
- The hub list summary (count only)
- The hub Analytics tab (full ratings with timestamps and visitor info)
To enable ratings, they must not be explicitly disabled in hub settings.
Using Analytics for Follow-Ups
Timing Your Outreach
Visit notifications let you follow up at exactly the right moment. When you receive a "hub viewed" notification, the prospect is actively engaged — a timely follow-up message lands much better than a cold call two days later.
Identifying Buying Signals
High-engagement visitors are better qualified prospects. Look for:
- Multiple visits — they came back, which signals ongoing interest
- Time spent on pricing/commercial steps — they're evaluating budget
- Downloads — they saved materials for internal sharing
- Comments — they have questions and are ready for dialogue
Personalizing Follow-Ups
With named visitor data, you can reference specific content in your outreach:
"I saw you spent some time on the Integrations section — did you have any questions about connecting with your existing tools?"
FAQ
Does meetergo track my own views?
Views from users logged into the same company account are marked as internal and excluded from external engagement metrics.
How are unique visitors counted?
By email if the email gate is active; otherwise by browser session cookie. Clearing cookies or using a different browser creates a new session.
Can I export analytics data?
CSV export is available from the Analytics tab. Click Export to download a CSV of all visitor sessions and event data.
How far back does analytics data go?
The hub list summary shows the last 30 days. The full Analytics tab shows all historical data from the hub's creation date.
Does location tracking comply with privacy regulations?
meetergo uses IP-based geolocation for country/city lookup only. IP addresses are not stored in raw form. If you need to disable location tracking for compliance reasons, contact support.
