Sharing & Access Control

Share Resource Hubs with a link, custom URL, password protection, or email gate — and control exactly who can access your content

Updated on March 22, 2026

Resource Hubs are designed to be shared. meetergo gives you multiple ways to control who can access your hub and how they identify themselves — from open public links to password-protected rooms.

Sharing a Hub

  1. Open your Resource Hub
  2. Click the Share button (top right)
  3. Click Copy link

The link opens the hub in a full-screen viewer. No meetergo account is required for visitors.

Custom URL (Slug)

Instead of sharing a long UUID-based URL, set a short, memorable path:

  1. Open hub Settings
  2. Enter a value in the Custom URL field (e.g., acme-q3-proposal)
  3. Slugs must be 3–80 characters using only lowercase letters (a–z), numbers (0–9), and hyphens (-)
  4. Click Save

Your hub is now accessible at:

app.meetergo.com/hubs/acme-q3-proposal

To remove a custom URL, clear the slug field and save. The hub reverts to its default UUID-based URL.

Requiring an Email Address

When enabled, visitors must enter their email address before viewing the hub. This lets you:

  • Identify who is viewing your content
  • Populate analytics with named visitors instead of anonymous sessions
  • Use visitor emails for follow-up

To enable:

  1. Open hub Settings
  2. Toggle Require email to access
  3. Save

Visitors who open the hub are shown a gate screen before the content loads. They enter their email and proceed immediately — no account creation required.

Password Protection

Add a password to prevent unauthorized access:

  1. Open hub Settings
  2. Enable Password protect this hub
  3. Enter a password
  4. Click Save

Visitors who open the hub see a password prompt before the content loads. Share the password separately (e.g., in your email or during a call).

Changing or Removing a Password

  • Change: Enter a new password in the same field and save
  • Remove: Clear the password field and save — the hub becomes publicly accessible again

Combining Access Controls

You can use email requirement and password protection independently or together:

ConfigurationUse Case
No restrictionsPublic resources, marketing materials
Email required onlyAnonymous tracking → named tracking, no friction
Password onlyConfidential materials shared selectively
Email + passwordMaximum control, e.g., investor data rooms

Closing a Hub

If a deal ends or a hub is no longer relevant:

  1. Open hub Settings
  2. Toggle Close this hub

Visitors who open the link see a "this hub is closed" message. The hub and all its data remain in your account — closing is reversible at any time.

Visibility of Stages and Steps

Beyond hub-level access control, you can control visibility at the stage and step level:

StateVisitor Experience
VisibleFully accessible
LockedCan see it exists, but cannot open it (lock icon shown)
HiddenCompletely invisible to external visitors

Use locked stages to reveal content progressively as a deal moves forward. For example, lock the "Pricing" stage until after your first demo call, then unlock it to give the prospect a reason to re-engage.

See Managing Stages & Steps for details on setting visibility per stage or step.

Internal Notes

Internal notes are private annotations for your team that are never visible to external visitors:

  1. Open hub Settings
  2. Enter notes in the Internal notes field
  3. Save

Use internal notes for briefing context, deal background, or instructions for colleagues handling the hub.

Notifications When Your Hub is Viewed

meetergo can notify you when visitors interact with your hub:

EventNotification
Hub viewedIn-app + email
Comment addedIn-app + email
Link openedIn-app only
Hub sharedIn-app only

To configure notifications:

  1. Open the hub
  2. Click Notifications (bell icon)
  3. Toggle each event on or off

FAQ

Can I share the same hub with multiple people?

Yes. A Resource Hub has a single link that any number of people can open. Each visitor's session is tracked separately in Analytics.

Can I restrict access to specific people only?

Currently there's no allowlist. The best approach is password protection — only share the password with the intended recipients.

Do visitors need a meetergo account?

No. Visitors open the hub in a public viewer with no login required. Only your team needs a meetergo account.

Can I track who viewed the hub without requiring email?

Yes — meetergo tracks anonymous sessions using a browser session ID. You'll see view counts and time-spent data, but visitors will appear as "Anonymous" rather than by name. Enable Require email to get named visitor data.

What happens if I change the slug?

The old URL stops working immediately. Any links you already shared will break. Always notify recipients if you change a slug.
