How to enable file uploads on booking forms

Allow invitees to upload documents when booking appointments with the file upload field.

With the file upload field, you can allow invitees to upload documents directly when they book an appointment. This is useful for collecting resumes, contracts, images, or any other files you need before the meeting.

Adding a file upload field to your booking form

  1. Go to Data Fields in your meetergo dashboard
  2. Click Add field
  3. Select File upload as the field type
  4. Configure the field settings:
    • Name: The internal name of the field (e.g., "resume", "document")
    • Label: The label shown to invitees (e.g., "Upload your CV", "Attach document")
    • Required: Toggle on if the file upload is mandatory
  5. Save your data field
  6. Go to your Meeting Type and select Invitee Questions
  7. Add your new file upload field to the form

Configuring file upload options

When creating a file upload field, you can customize the following options:

  • Allowed file types: Choose which file extensions are allowed (e.g., PDF, DOC, DOCX, XLS, XLSX, JPG, PNG, GIF, TXT, CSV)
  • Maximum file size: Set the maximum size per file (up to 5 MB)
  • Maximum number of files: Limit how many files can be uploaded (default is 1)

How invitees upload files

When an invitee visits your booking page:

  1. They fill out the booking form as usual
  2. For file upload fields, they can either:
    • Click the upload area to select a file
    • Drag and drop a file onto the upload area
  3. The file is validated for size and type
  4. Once uploaded, the file appears with its name and size
  5. They can remove the file and upload a different one if needed

Accessing uploaded files

After a booking is created, you can access uploaded files in several ways:

  1. Booking details: View files attached to individual bookings
  2. Email notifications: Configure files to be sent as email attachments (see Attaching files to email notifications)
  3. Files section: All uploaded files appear in your Files library
