Ever wanted to stop certain people from booking meetings with you? meetergo's email blocking feature lets you do just that. You can block specific email addresses or entire domains to keep unwanted bookings at bay. This article will show you how to set it up and use it effectively to maintain control over who can access your calendar.


How to Block Emails


  1. Login to your meetergo account and go to your Meeting Types
  2. Select the Meeting Type you want to modify and click "Edit"




  1. Click on the "Invitee Questions" tab and enable "Add questions to form"




  1. Enter the email addresses or domains you want to block


  1. Enable "Blocked Emails"



Emails can be blocked from any Form, including Routing Forms.


Understanding Email Blocking


When someone with a blocked email tries to book an appointment, they won't see any available time slots. meetergo simply shows them that no times are available, without revealing that they've been specifically blocked. This maintains professionalism while protecting your calendar from unwanted appointments.


The blocking system works at the booking form level, preventing blocked emails from even reaching your availability calendar. This means blocked users can't see your schedule patterns or timing preferences.


Blocking Individual Emails vs Domains


Block Individual Emails: Enter the complete email address like problem.client@example.com to block just that specific person.


Block Entire Domains: Enter just the domain part like @spamcompany.com to block everyone with an email ending in that domain. This is perfect for blocking entire organizations or known spam domains.


You can mix and match both approaches in the same Meeting Type, giving you precise control over who can and cannot book with you.


Managing Multiple Meeting Types


Email blocking applies only to the Meeting Type where you've enabled it. If you have multiple Meeting Types and want to block the same emails across all of them, you'll need to set up blocking for each Meeting Type individually.


This granular approach lets you have different blocking rules for different types of appointments. For example, you might block certain domains from your free consultation calls but allow them for paid services.


Adding and Removing Blocked Emails


You can update your blocked email list anytime by returning to the Meeting Type settings. Add new entries by typing them in the block list field, or remove existing entries by deleting them from the list. All changes take effect immediately across your booking pages.


There's no limit to how many emails or domains you can block, so feel free to add as many as needed to keep your calendar clean and professional.

Can I unblock an email or domain later?


Absolutely! Just return to the form settings and remove the email address or domain from the blocked list.


What if someone uses a different email address?


Email blocking only works for the specific addresses and domains you've listed. If someone uses a different email that's not on your block list, they'll be able to book normally. You can always add new addresses to your block list as needed.


Can I see who tried to book but was blocked?


meetergo doesn't currently track or report on blocked booking attempts. The blocking happens silently without creating any logs or notifications for blocked users.
