How to Connect meetergo Log with meetergo
Link your meetergo account to auto-start recordings, get smart meeting names, and sync transcripts & summaries.
When you connect your meetergo account to meetergo Log, recordings start automatically, meetings get named with attendee info, and transcripts & summaries sync back to your appointments — all in one place.
What You Get
- Auto-Start Recording — Recordings begin automatically when your scheduled meetergo meetings start. You get a notification ~1 minute before.
- Smart Meeting Names — Instead of generic timestamps like "Meeting 08_04_26_14_30", recordings are automatically named with attendee information, e.g. "Meeting with Sarah Chen, Marcus Hartnack".
- Auto-Stop Reminders — When a meeting's scheduled end time is reached, you get a notification so you can stop the recording.
- Custom Summary Templates — Create your own summary templates tailored to your meeting types (standup, client call, 1:1, etc.).
- Linked Transcripts & Summaries — After generating a summary, the transcription and summary are automatically synced back to your meetergo appointment. You can view them directly in your appointment dashboard.
- Upcoming Meetings Dashboard — See today's scheduled meetings directly in meetergo Log settings, with times, attendee counts, and live status.
Requirements
- meetergo Essentials plan or higher (starting at 7€/month)
- A Personal Access Token from your meetergo account
- meetergo Log installed on your computer (download here)
How to Connect
Step 1: Get Your API Key
- Go to API Keys in your meetergo dashboard
- Click Create API Key
- Copy the key immediately — it's only shown once
The key format looks like ak_live:01234567-89ab-cdef-.... Store it somewhere safe, you cannot view it again after creation.
Step 2: Connect in meetergo Log
- Open meetergo Log on your computer
- Go to Settings → meetergo tab
- Paste your API key into the field
- Click Connect
Your account is detected automatically — you'll see your name and a green "Connected" status.
Step 3: Enable Auto-Start
The Auto-start recording for scheduled meetings toggle is on by default. When enabled:
- meetergo Log checks your schedule every 30 seconds
- ~1 minute before a meeting: you see a desktop notification
- At meeting start time: recording begins automatically with the meeting name
Step 4: Verify It's Working
After connecting, your today's upcoming meetings appear in the settings page. You should see:
- Meeting titles and times
- Attendee counts
- Meetings happening right now show a green Happening now badge
If you don't see any meetings, make sure the meetings are booked through meetergo (calendar-only events won't appear).
How the Sync Works
- A meetergo meeting is scheduled (via your booking page, calendar integration, etc.)
- meetergo Log fetches your appointments every 5 minutes
- When a meeting starts, recording begins automatically
- You stop the recording when the meeting ends
- You generate a summary (or it auto-generates if configured)
- The transcript and summary are automatically sent to the meetergo appointment via the API
- You'll see a Synced to meetergo confirmation toast
Once synced, the transcription and summary appear in the appointment detail drawer in your meetergo dashboard.
Disconnecting
Go to Settings → meetergo and click Disconnect. This:
- Stops the appointment scheduler
- Clears your stored API key
- Disables all meetergo integration features
Your existing recordings and summaries in meetergo Log are not affected. Transcripts already synced to meetergo appointments also remain.
Troubleshooting
| Issue | Solution |
|---|---|
| "Authentication failed" when connecting | Check that your API key is correct and hasn't expired. Keys expire after 1–90 days depending on your settings. |
| No meetings showing up | Make sure your meetings are booked through meetergo (not just calendar events). |
| Auto-start didn't trigger | Ensure the toggle is on, meetergo Log was running before the meeting started, and the meeting was booked through meetergo. |
| "Not connected" errors in logs | Your API key may have expired — disconnect and reconnect with a new key. |
