How to disable buffer time events in your calendar
Stop buffer times from appearing as separate events in your connected calendar.
When you use buffer times on your meeting types, meetergo automatically creates separate calendar events for each buffer (before and after your meetings). Some users prefer a cleaner calendar without these extra buffer entries. You can easily disable this per calendar connection.
How to disable buffer calendar events
- Go to your Profile settings
- Scroll down to the Calendar section where your connected calendars are listed
- Click on Advanced Settings for the calendar connection you want to adjust
- Turn off the toggle "Sync buffers to calendar"
- Save your changes
That's it — future bookings will no longer create separate buffer events in that calendar. Your buffer times still work as expected for availability calculations, they just won't show up as visible events.
This setting applies per calendar connection. If you have multiple calendars connected (e.g. Google Calendar and Outlook), you need to disable it for each one separately.
What happens when I disable this?
| With sync enabled (default) | With sync disabled |
|---|---|
| Buffer times appear as separate events in your calendar | No buffer events are created in your calendar |
| You can see exactly when your buffer time is | Your calendar looks cleaner with fewer entries |
| Buffers still block availability ✅ | Buffers still block availability ✅ |
Disabling this setting does not remove your buffer times. Buffers are still active and prevent others from booking too close to your meetings. This setting only controls whether buffer times are shown as separate events in your connected calendar.
FAQ
Will existing buffer events be removed from my calendar?
No, only future bookings are affected. Buffer events from past bookings remain in your calendar. You can delete them manually if needed.
Does this affect my availability?
No. Buffer times continue to work exactly the same for availability calculations regardless of this setting.
