Meeting Type Templates

Create and manage templates that standardize meeting types across your organization

Updated on December 15, 2025

Meeting type templates let administrators create standardized meeting configurations that can be applied across team members. Templates ensure consistency in branding, settings, and workflows while allowing individual customization where needed.

What Are Meeting Type Templates?

Templates are master configurations for meeting types that include:

  • Meeting name, description, and duration
  • Availability settings
  • CRM integration options
  • Reminder and notification settings
  • Form fields and questions
  • Buffer times and scheduling rules

When you create meeting types from a template, they inherit these settings automatically.

Who Can Use Templates?

Templates are managed by company administrators. Regular users can:

  • Create meeting types from templates
  • Use templates assigned to them
  • Customize certain settings (where allowed)

Creating a Template

  1. Go to SettingsTemplates or AdminMeeting Type Templates
  2. Click Create Template
  3. Configure the template settings:
    • Basic info (name, description, duration)
    • Availability schedule
    • Reminders and notifications
    • Form fields
    • CRM sync options
  4. Save the template

Template Settings

Templates can include all standard meeting type settings:

Assigning Templates to Team Members

After creating a template:

  1. Go to the template settings
  2. Find Assign Hosts or Team Members
  3. Select which team members should use this template
  4. Save changes

Assigned members can then create meeting types based on this template.

Creating Meeting Types from Templates

When team members create new meeting types:

  1. Go to Meeting TypesCreate New
  2. Select From Template
  3. Choose the assigned template
  4. Customize any allowed settings
  5. Save the meeting type

The meeting type inherits all template settings but can be customized as needed.

Pushing Template Changes

When you update a template, you can push changes to all meeting types created from it:

  1. Edit the template
  2. Make your changes
  3. Click Push Changes or Sync to Meeting Types
  4. Select which meeting types to update
  5. Confirm the update

What Gets Updated

When pushing changes:

  • Settings defined in the template are updated
  • Custom modifications may be preserved (depends on settings)
  • New fields are added to meeting types

Best Practices for Pushing Changes

  • Review which meeting types will be affected
  • Communicate changes to team members
  • Test on a few meeting types first
  • Schedule updates during low-traffic times

Troubleshooting

Template Not Appearing

If team members can't see a template:

  1. Verify template is assigned to them
  2. Check template isn't deleted or disabled
  3. Ensure user has permission to create meeting types

Changes Not Syncing

If pushed changes don't appear:

  1. Confirm the push completed successfully
  2. Check if meeting type has custom overrides
  3. Verify the specific setting is included in template

Conflicting Settings

If meeting types behave unexpectedly:

  1. Check template settings
  2. Review meeting type customizations
  3. Identify which setting is taking precedence

FAQ

Can I convert an existing meeting type to a template?

Not directly. Create a new template with the desired settings, then optionally recreate meeting types from it.

Do templates work with round robin?

Yes, templates can include queue/round robin settings that meeting types inherit.

Can team members override template settings?

Depends on your configuration. Some settings can be locked to the template, others allow customization.

What happens if I delete a template?
