Complete Profiles

Fill in as much information as possible:

  • Correct domain (enables logo fetching)
  • Accurate industry and size

Consistent Naming

Use consistent naming conventions:

  • "Acme Corporation" not "Acme Corp" and "Acme"
  • Prevents duplicate entries
  • Easier searching

Domain-Based Organization

Use domains to:

  • Avoid duplicate companies
  • Auto-detect related contacts
  • Link to company websites

Regular Cleanup

  • Merge duplicate companies
  • Update outdated information
  • Remove companies no longer relevant

Company and Contact Relationship

A company can have:

  • Multiple contacts
  • Multiple deals
  • Notes and communications
  • Attachments

When viewing a company, you see the full picture of your relationship with that organization.

FAQ

Can a contact belong to multiple companies?

No, a contact is linked to one company at a time. If a contact changes companies, update their company association.

What happens to contacts when I delete a company?

Contacts are unlinked but not deleted. They become "company-less" contacts that you can reassign.

Can I merge duplicate companies?

Company merging may be available through the deduplication tool. Otherwise, manually move contacts and deals to the correct company before deleting the duplicate.

How do company logos appear?

Logos are fetched based on the domain field. Enter a valid domain (e.g., "google.com") and the logo appears automatically when available.

Can I import companies from a CSV?

Contact import may create companies if company information is included. Check the import mapping options.

Are companies shared across the team?

Yes, all CRM users can view and edit companies (subject to permissions).
