How to cancel your subscription or downgrade to the Free plan

Downgrade to the Free plan without a notice period, see when the cancellation takes effect, whether you get a refund or a credit, how to undo a scheduled downgrade, and what to do when the switch option is not shown

You can cancel a paid meetergo plan at any time by switching back to the Free plan. There is no notice period and no cancellation form. You schedule the switch yourself on the Billing page, and you keep every paid feature until your current billing period ends.

How to switch to the Free plan

  1. Open Admin Center → Billing (my.meetergo.com/admin/subscription).
  2. Scroll past the plan cards to the bottom of the page and click the small Switch to the Free plan link.
  3. The dialog shows your current plan, the date your access ends, and the features you will lose. Click Confirm downgrade.

You do not have to delete meeting types, booking links or integrations first. Everything stays in place, and meetergo adjusts what is active for you once the switch happens.

After you confirm, the Billing page shows End Date instead of Next billing date, and reopening the dialog shows Downgrade scheduled with the exact switch date.

When the change takes effect

What you switch toWhen it happensWhat you pay
Free plan (cancellation)At the end of your current billing periodNothing more. The period you already paid for is not refunded, and you keep full access until it ends
A cheaper paid plan, for example Premium → LightImmediatelyThe unused part of your old plan is credited to your account and settled against your next invoice
Free plan while still in your trialAutomatically when the trial endsNothing. No action is needed, and no payment method is charged

What happens to your data and meeting types

Nothing is deleted. Your account, bookings, contacts and meeting types stay exactly as they are, and paid features simply stop working when the switch happens.

The Free plan allows three active meeting types, so if you have more than three, or if a meeting type uses a paid feature, meetergo pauses the extra ones. What to do when Meeting Types are paused explains how to choose which ones stay active.

Undo a scheduled downgrade

As long as the switch date has not passed, you can keep your plan:

  1. Open Admin Center → Billing.
  2. Click your current plan again and confirm.

Your subscription continues on its normal cycle, and the End Date disappears from the Billing page.

The switch option is not shown

What you seeWhyWhat to do
No Switch to the Free plan linkYour account is already on Free (formerly Basic)Nothing. You are not being billed for a plan
No Billing entry in the Admin Center at allOnly company admins see the Billing pageAsk an admin in your account to make the change
The dialog only says the account switches to Free when the trial endsYou are in a trial and have never paidNothing. The account moves to Free by itself and no card is charged
No Billing entry even though you are an adminYour account is billed outside of meetergo, for example by invoice or through a reseller, so the page is hiddenContact us and we will change the plan for you

Will I get money back?

No. Cancelling to the Free plan does not produce a refund, because you keep full access to your paid plan until the period you paid for is over.

Money only moves when you switch between two paid plans, or between monthly and yearly billing. In that case the unused amount is credited to your account balance and used automatically for your next charge, whether that is your next invoice, an extra user, an SMS package or a later upgrade.

Want to delete your account?

Cancelling your subscription keeps your meetergo account active on the Free plan. If you want to remove your account and all associated data, you have to delete the account instead. See how to delete your account for the steps.
