Importing your ProvenExpert reviews
Connect your ProvenExpert API credentials and import the reviews you already collected there, so they count towards your average and appear on your booking pages, review page and widget.
If you already collect reviews on ProvenExpert, you can import them into meetergo. Imported reviews count towards your average score and appear everywhere your other reviews do: on your review page, in the widget on your website, and as the star rating on your booking pages.
Reviews are part of the Suite plan (formerly Growth) and above.
The import runs one way only: ProvenExpert into meetergo. Reviews collected in meetergo cannot be pushed to ProvenExpert, because ProvenExpert's API has no endpoint for creating a rating. Ratings there can only come from ProvenExpert's own surveys.
What you need
- A ProvenExpert plan that includes the rating endpoint. That is Premium and above. Free, Basic and Plus cannot read reviews through the API.
- Your ProvenExpert API ID and API key.
Finding your API credentials
- Sign in to ProvenExpert.
- Open Administration → Developer API in your profile.
- Copy the API ID and the API key. They are unique to your profile.
Connecting ProvenExpert
- Open Reviews and go to Review settings.
- Find the Import from ProvenExpert section.
- Paste your API ID and API key and click Connect ProvenExpert.
Your API key is encrypted before it is stored, and it is never shown again after you save it. If you need to change it, disconnect and connect again.
Only admins can connect or disconnect ProvenExpert.
Importing your reviews
Once connected, click Import ProvenExpert reviews. meetergo then fetches every review on your ProvenExpert profile and adds the ones it has not seen before.
Imported reviews:
- keep their original date, so your review history stays accurate,
- are labelled via ProvenExpert wherever they are shown,
- keep ProvenExpert's own published or unpublished state, so a review you are holding back there does not go live here,
- are attributed to the reviewer's name, or shown as anonymous when ProvenExpert has no name for them.
Run the import again whenever you want to pull in newer reviews. It never creates duplicates: reviews already imported are skipped, and the result tells you how many were imported and how many were skipped.
ProvenExpert scores can be fractional when a survey averages several questions, for example 4.66. meetergo stores whole stars, so these are rounded to the nearest star.
Disconnecting
Click Disconnect in the same section. This removes your stored credentials. Reviews you already imported stay in your account and stay published; disconnecting only stops future imports.
FAQ
Do my meetergo reviews appear on ProvenExpert?
No. ProvenExpert has no API for creating a rating on any plan, so nothing can be written back. If you want reviews to land on your ProvenExpert profile, they have to be collected through a ProvenExpert survey.
Why do I get "Your ProvenExpert plan does not include access to reviews via the API"?
Your ProvenExpert plan is below Premium. The rating endpoint the import needs is only available from the Premium package upwards.
Why do I get "ProvenExpert rejected those credentials"?
The API ID or API key is wrong, or it was regenerated in ProvenExpert. Copy both values again from Administration → Developer API and reconnect.
Can I import into a single team instead of the whole company?
No. The ProvenExpert import always lands at company level, the same as the cituro import.
How often can I run the import?
Once every five minutes. That is enough for a source that is updated by hand, and it keeps us from hammering ProvenExpert's API.
