How to Offer Different Meeting Types on Specific Days

Set up flexible weekly scheduling with online meetings on some days and in-person meetings on others

Updated on December 4, 2025

Need to offer online consultations on certain days and in-person meetings on others? With meetergo, you can create a flexible weekly schedule where different meeting types are available on different days.

Use Case

You want to plan each week individually:

  • Wednesday 29th: Online consultations from 3-6 PM
  • Saturday 1st: In-person consultations in the afternoon
  • Following week: Maybe both, or just one option

Solution: Separate Meeting Types with Availability Exceptions

The key is to create separate meeting types for each service and use availability exceptions to control when each is bookable.

Step 1: Create Separate Meeting Types

  1. Go to Meeting Types
  2. Create one meeting type for Online Consultations (with a video channel like Zoom or meetergo Connect)
  3. Create another meeting type for In-Person Consultations (with a local/in-person channel)

This way, clients book the specific service they need, and you have full control over when each is available.

Step 2: Set Different Availability per Meeting Type

Each meeting type can have its own availability schedule:

  1. Edit your meeting type
  2. Under Availability, you can either:
    • Use the default availability (shared across meeting types)
    • Create a custom availability specific to this meeting type

For maximum flexibility with weekly planning, use availability exceptions.

Step 3: Use Availability Exceptions for Weekly Planning

Availability exceptions let you open or block specific time slots on specific dates:

  1. Go to Availability
  2. Click on a specific date in the calendar
  3. Toggle to "✅ Available" to open a time slot
  4. Set the time range (e.g., 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM)
  5. Click Save

Repeat for each day you want to offer appointments.

Tip: You can also block days where you don't want bookings by using the "🚫 Blocker" toggle.

Step 4: Assign Availability to Meeting Types

To ensure each meeting type respects its own schedule:

  1. Edit the meeting type
  2. Under Availability, select the appropriate availability schedule
  3. Save changes

Now your online consultations and in-person meetings will only be bookable during their designated times.

Tips for Flexible Weekly Planning

  • Plan week by week: Add availability exceptions each week for your specific schedule
  • Use the list view: Check all your exceptions at a glance in the Availability section
  • Multiple days at once: Exceptions can span multiple days for extended availability
